New Dates Announced for South Glendale Community Plan Meetings
The City of Glendale’s Community Development Department (CDD) has officially announced the dates for the next City Council study sessions examining different facets of the South Glendale Community Plan (SGCP). Currently in development, the plan will serve as the official guide to neighborhood and commercial district development in South Glendale. These meetings are geared towards discussing land use and transportation framework, planning direction, and facilitating City Council input.
Unlike the previous workshops, Glendale CDD staff will meet with local community groups to present the South Glendale Community Plan and distribute a community survey. This change is part of a greater effort by the City of Glendale to outreach to various community groups and elicit direct feedback.
Below is a list of organizations and events the CDD staff will be attending to conduct outreach:
October 11 – Glendale Young Professionals Breakfast
October 16 – Adams Hill Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting
October 29 – Halloween Spooktacle at Cerritos Park
November 7 – Glendale Homeowners Coordinating Council
CDD staff has hosted multiple workshops and public meetings on the South Glendale Community Plan since 2013. The upcoming meetings listed above are just a piece of a larger outreach effort committed to engaging local organizations and community groups. Businesses, residents, civic organizations, and local groups all have an important part to play in developing and providing input on the future of development in South Glendale.
CDD is reaching out to other organizations as well, and hopes to schedule similar meetings in the near future. If you are a resident or part of a local organization that wishes to provide feedback to CDD staff, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (818) 937-8333.
