Stabbing Incident Remains Under Investigation by Detectives

On September 28th just before 2:00 a.m., an altercation occurred between two males that ended with both being stabbed with a knife.  The crime scene encompassed a large area to include the streets of Isabel Street and Broadway between the Glendale Superior Courthouse and the Glendale Police Department. 

Preliminarily, the investigation has identified Minas Arutyunyan, 30 of Sunland as a victim of an unprovoked attack by the suspect, Alex Littlejohn, 57 of Glendale.  Arutyunyan was stabbed multiple times but was able to fight back his attacker.  Littlejohn died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

 

Arutyunyan was transported to the Los Angeles County USC Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. He underwent surgery and was recovering.  On the evening of September 29th, Arutyunyan died while recovering at the hospital.  The cause of his death is unknown and is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

 

Detectives have determined that no other suspects are at large.  The investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led up to the altercation between the two males.
