Learn How Safe Routes to School Phase 3 Will Positively Affect Your Community

The City of Glendale created Safe Routes to School to enhance the safety of pathways, sidewalks and crosswalks for students while encouraging walking and bicycling. Starting June 2016 to August 2016, Public Works will be moving onto Phase 3 which will be affecting the following schools: Chamlian Armenian School, Valley View Elementary School, Franklin Elementary School, Thomas Edison Elementary School, and Cerritos Elementary School.

Phase 3 includes the installation of new curb ramps meeting current ADA requirements, traffic circles, traffic striping and pavement markings. There will also be reconstruction of existing pavement at select intersections and modification of an existing catch basin and curb returns. We invite you to attend our community meeting to learn more or to have your questions answered on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00AM-12:00PM at Glendale's Fire Department's Environmental Management Center Community Room, 780 Flower Street, Glendale, CA, 91201.

Visit the Safe Routes to School Phase 3 project page for more details about the project or for current updates.
