Disney Interactive recently announced they’ll be rolling out a new lineup of Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters to their video game franchise Disney Infinity in anticipation of the film’s upcoming December release.
The four characters include fighter pilot Poe Dameron and the villainous Kylo Ren, along with film protagonists Rey and Finn. Due to the high level of secrecy surrounding the entire film, little is known about these characters (for now).
They’re scheduled to begin shipping on December 18th.
Launched in 2013, Disney Infinity is an action-adventure sandbox game featuring iconic characters from the Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm canons. Its concept revolves around purchasing physical figurines that are then synchronized with the game. Over one million units have been sold to date.
The success of Disney Infinity was one of the driving factors that influenced the recent merger between Disney Interactive and Disney merchandising arm Disney Consumer Products.
