The Great Shakeout: Earthquake Preparedness


Today, 10.3 million Californians will participate in a variety of activities in support of the Great Shakeout. The goal of the Great Shakeout is to create earthquake awareness and encourage the community to prepare for the next large disaster.

Here are some preparedness tips:

  1. DROP, COVER and HOLD when the ground begins to shake during an earthquake.

  2. Create an emergency supply kit for your car, home, and work.

  3. Develop a family communication plan.

  4. Register with Everbridge at http://www.glendaleca.gov/ to get emergency information.

  5. Twitter: Follow the City of Glendale @MyGlendale and Glendale Fire @GlendaleCA Fire​

My Glendale Emergency Communication Card:

For all emergencies, information is critical. The City of Glendale has created the My Glendale Emergency Communication card which provides the community with all of the critical contact information report incidents and communication tools the City of Glendale will use to provide incident specific information.
