
The Glendale Fire Department and Glendale Fire Fighters Association, Local 776, received the Partnership in Success Award from the California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee (Cal-JAC).
A united effort between labor and management is paramount to success within the fire service and the driving force behind Cal-JAC’s mission. Therefore, in 2001, Cal-JAC created the Partnership for Success Award to recognize fire departments and local unions that demonstrate a strong commitment to working together and providing the training and education needed to ensure firefighter safety and effectiveness on the front lines.
The Glendale Fire Department and Glendale Fire Fighters Association, Local 776, embody the spirit of labor and management collaboration, working to ensure that firefighter training and safety standards are at the highest levels possible. The Glendale Fire Department responds to over 18,000 incidents annually. GFD has an average of 45 incidents per day utilizing specialized emergency services that include fire suppression, emergency medical care, hazardous materials management, swift water rescue and urban search and rescue. Glendale Fire Fighters Association, Local 776, represents the men and women of the Glendale Fire Department who put the community first and who protect the citizens and property of Los Angeles County’s third largest city. According to Chief Fish, “We are honored to receive this award. This award recognizes the innovative collaboration that Glendale Fire’s management team has shared with the GFFA in bringing outstanding service to the community.”
The Glendale Fire Department and Glendale Fire Fighters Association, Local 776, have demonstrated an enduring commitment to the Cal-JAC’s labor-management model on every level.
