City of Glendale Police Officer Recruitment


The City of Glendale is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer Recruit until Friday, December 11, 2015.

Our exciting and challenging assignments include: SWAT, K-9, Motorcycle Duty, Air Support, Special Enforcement Detail, Detectives, Community Lead Officer, Crisis Negotiation Team, School Resource Officer, Patrol, and Task Force Officer with local, state and federal agencies.

The selection process includes a written exam, physical agility test, background investigation, polygraph, psychological examination, oral interview, and a medical examination.

Once the applicants are selected, they will attend a police academy for basic law enforcement training for 22 weeks. After completion of the academy, the trainee will be sworn in and start an intense six month field training program. “We are devoted to providing our community with highly qualified and dedicated law enforcement professionals,” said Chief Robert Castro. “This is an arduous process that takes motivation and a strong commitment.”

Annual Base Salary

$75,396.00 – $98,544.00

Benefits Package:

3/12 Work Schedule (3 days per week, 12 hours per day)

2.7% @ 57 P.E.R.S. Retirement Plan

3% @ 55 for Eligible Laterals

Uniform Allowance $1,400.00

Voluntary 457 Deferred Compensation Program Available

Yearly Holiday Leave - 106 hours/year

Starting Vacation Leave - 80 hours/year

College Tuition Reimbursement Program

P.O.S.T. Educational Incentive:

-$650 Monthly - Intermediate

-$700 Monthly - Advanced

Bilingual Pay - $175 per month

Monthly Bonus Pay for Specialized Assignments:

5% - Police Agent, Detectives, K-9, Motorcycle, Helicopter Observer, Admin Assignments

6.5% - Helicopter Pilot

10% - Helicopter Trainer
