After bringing so many creative stories to the big screen, it’s only suitable that DreamWorks Animation Studios is currently developing a commercial slated to air on television’s biggest stage – The Super Bowl. Website publishing platform Wix, recently announced it has partnered with the Glendale-based animation studio to produce a 30-second short for one of the biggest television events of the year.
According to Wix’s CMO Omer Shai, DreamWorks originally approached them with the prospect of teaming up to work on a commercial. Aware of their storied animation legacy, Shai stated it was virtually a no-brainer.
"We were presented with a unique opportunity and would have been crazy to pass it up. The ability to collaborate on this campaign with a renowned group of creatives like the team at DreamWorks Animations has been amazing, even at this early stage of the campaign."
He went on to further expound about DreamWorks’ illustrious reputation.
"The DreamWorks Animation team has an incredible track record when it comes to creating compelling stories that captivate viewers’ hearts and minds, and there is no one better to collaborate with on a Super Bowl campaign where the world’s top brands compete for viewers’ attention."
The commercial will be just one component of a massive digital campaign that’ll be deployed as Super Bowl 50 approaches. A 30-second primetime Super Bowl slot is generally estimated to cost around $5 million dollars.
Last year’s Wix Super Bowl commercial involved five NFL legends creating small business websites using its services. The featured hashtag was #ItsThatEasy.
