The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) recently announced it’ll be hosting its first ever charity golf tournament at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club on May 16th. All proceeds will go towards furthering their organizational goal of providing jobs and employment preparedness training for low-income youth. To learn more and register, click here.
The event will consist of the following schedule:
9:00 a.m. – Registration
10:00 a.m. – Putting Contest
11:00 a.m. – Scramble Tournament, Lunch on the course
4:00 p.m. – Cocktails
5:00 p.m. – Dinners, Awards, and Silent Auction
The La Cañada Flintridge Country Club opened in 1962 and features an 18-hole course designed by prolific golf course architect Lawrence Hughes. According to the club website, the course:
“Offers breathtaking views from every tee. By incorporating elevation changes throughout the design, Hughes created a unique layout that blends into the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Rolling fairways and fast greens make LCFCC an enjoyable experience for all levels of golfer.”

The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a partnership between government, education, businesses and our community. Community leaders established GYA in 1993 with a mission to provide jobs and employment preparedness training for low-income youth ages 14-24. GYA programs are designed to build civic values in youth, provide a foundation to learn job skills and to become productive participants of the workforce. GYA operates five programs on a spectrum that provide mentored employment to youth and has provided first time employment and training to over 7,500 local youth.
