Improving the Barn at Deukmejian Wilderness Park
Brimming with chaparral and sage scrub, Deukmejian Wilderness Park is comprised of 709 acres of open space and hiking trails. The iconic Le Mesnager Barn is situated right next to the main parking lot and has recently undergone a seismic upgrade to ensure its structural integrity. Now city officials are in the preliminary stages of implementing additional adaptive reuse enhancements to enable the facility to host special events, lectures, meetings, and programmed activities. The aforementioned upgrades include a new HVAC system, plumbing/ electrical work, new concrete floor slab, and a glass storefront entry.
