With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: Glendale Water & Power Campaign Educates and Addres

As the sweltering summer sun prompts widespread air conditioning usage across the Jewel City, Glendale Water & Power (GWP) is shining a light on energy conservation in the form of its latest campaign "Think, Act, Save. We All Have the Power.” The purpose is to encourage customers to incorporate energy saving habits and alternatives into their daily lives to both reduce their monthly bills and lessen the strain on the power grid imposed by peak summer usage. The latter is particularly important because Aliso Canyon’s natural gas shortage limits the production of electricity at local power plants and could potentially result in outages. GWP’s campaign aims to help alleviate the considerable energy demand by inspiring customers to help save power in their own little ways.

GWP is also part of a joint coalition of Southern California energy and gas providers spreading the word on energy conservation under the initiative www.ConserveEnergySoCal.com. The site provides a wealth of information related to saving power and enables customers to sign up for Flex Arts.
