Award-Winning GTV6 Nominated for Two Prestigious Awards

The City of Glendale was recently notified that our seven time Los Angeles Area Emmy Award winning government access television station GTV6, has been nominated once again by the Television Academy for their informational series “On the Move”.

“On the Move” is GTV6’s monthly show highlighting city programs, events, local businesses, and more. It was nominated in the “Informational Series (more than 50% remote)” category with winners being announced at the 68th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards on July 23. The nominated segment highlighted the exciting addition of the Antaeus Cultural Arts Center to Glendale’s vibrant downtown arts and entertainment district. It then delved into the fun and action of the One Glendale Recreational After-School Program that provides a safe and engaging environment for after-school recreation. Finally, the team explored the history behind the iconic Alex Theatre and covered their exciting 90th birthday celebrations. “On the Move” can be found at the start of every month on the MyGlendale YouTube channel and at glendaleca.gov.

In addition to GTV6’s Emmy nomination, the award winning channel’s Glendale Library, Arts & Culture PSA was also nominated in the category of “Public Service Announcement (Operating Budget Over $400,000”) by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA). NATOA’s annual Government Programming Awards recognize excellence in government programming in a variety of mediums with the winners being announced on September 22 in Austin, Texas. GTV6’s entry presented information on the Glendale Public Library and the numerous educational, artistic, and cultural programs that the department and the City of Glendale provide to residents. Program highlights include:
