City of Glendale City Council

In response to the ongoing civil unrest occurring throughout Armenia, Armenian-American residents have expressed their concerns to the City Council. The Mayor and City Council are aware of these recent developments and are committed to the tenets of democracy and the many liberties it provides to citizens. The City of Glendale is dedicated to preserving and protecting freedom of speech and assembly which are enumerated within the Constitution of the United States of America.

As such, the City of Glendale advocates for those freedoms which we enjoy here in our own country and are foundational to human rights and democracy across the globe. These fundamental values are central to maintaining a society in which all sectors of the population can enjoy peace and freedom.

We hope that these unfortunate internal challenges faced by the Armenian people are resolved in a peaceful manner. We do not condone any acts of violence. Armenia is currently faced with foreign challenges at its borders, and now, more than ever, cannot afford to be divided.
