Schools have started back up and fall is almost upon us, but that doesn’t mean the summer fun is over just yet. On September 17th, Glendale Arts and the City of Glendale will be hosting the first ever Glendale Open Arts & Music Festival. This engaging and exciting street experience will feature family-friendly activities, evening entertainment, and numerous interactive artistic experiences. The event is being put on by Glendale Arts, whose mission is to integrate the arts into the economic vibrancy and identity of Glendale through fun events such as this one.
This all-day event starts at noon and lasts until 10 pm with temporary public art, live musical performances on two stages, a curated arts market highlighting artistic work, and a Kids Zone with interactive programming for children. Of course, no event would be complete without a Beer and Wine Garden hosted by Brewyard Beer Company and Misa Wine, as well as food trucks, which will be on-site to feed the hungry art and music lovers of Glendale.
This is the culminating event of both the 90th anniversary of the famous Alex Theatre and the City’s inaugural Tech Week festivities. Glendale Tech Week, hosted by the City of Glendale Economic Development Corporation, is the first event of its kind to celebrate technology and inspire innovation within Glendale. This 4 day extravaganza features 50 amazing speakers and 30 events which include panels, site tours, happy hours, networking events, and a celebrity concert at the Alex Theatre.
Glendale Tech Week and the Open Arts & Music Festival speak to a forward-facing city in transition. The Open Arts & Music Festival hopes to highlight Glendale’s artistic and cultural strengths by bringing together artists, performers, professionals, businesses, and the community as a whole for a fun-filled one day event.
