On December 8th, 2015, the Armenian American Museum Project Development Committee formally presented the conceptual design for their Armenian American Museum to the Glendale City Council. Now they’re beginning to conduct outreach in the form of community forums to provide project updates and engage residents in Q&A sessions.

Below are the designated dates and locations:

1510 East Mountain Street, Glendale, CA 91207

Monday, January 11, 2016 | 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

3229 North Verdugo Road, Glendale, CA 91208

Sunday, January 17, 2016 | 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

They’ve scheduled presentations with several prominent local organizations as well.

Designed by Glendale-based architectural firm Alajajian Marcoosi Architects, the 30,000-square-foot site will feature exhibition space, classrooms, research offices, and performing arts theater. The exterior was designed to resemble the mountainous regions of both Armenia and Glendale. The intended location is on a 1.7 acre parking lot situated next to the Glendale Civic Auditorium and directly across from Glendale Community College.

The Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee is the organization behind the project. They envision the Armenian American Museum as a national landmark celebrating cultural understanding and ethnic diversity.
