GO-2016 Open Studio Tour to Highlight Local Artists

Many residents of our Jewel City are unaware of the sheer number of commercial and residential art studios, museums, galleries, and creative spaces that call Glendale home. Thanks to a partnership between 11:11 A Creative Collective and the City of Glendale Arts & Culture Commission, you can experience these spaces first hand during the GO-2016 Open Studio Tour. This unique self-guided tour allows community members the opportunity to explore the various artistic spaces of Glendale. The tour begins from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, October 15th and continues on Sunday, October 16th.

During this time period, various artists will open their studio doors so that residents can explore Glendale’s artistic side and learn how art is made in the Jewel City. The tour is completely self-guided and self-paced, so residents can choose where and when they will visit each studio. The tour has something for every sort of art lover. Residents can step into Haven, a 13,000 square foot fine art studio with over 30 artists creating in all mediums, or they can view the precision painted industrial landscapes of Michael Egede-Nissen. The self-guided tour gives community members the power to experience Glendale’s art scene in their own way.

In addition to private artist’s studios, the tour will include stops at the Museum of Neon Art, Creative Lounge, CEO Gallery, Tufenkian Fine Arts, Armenian Arts, Roslin Art Gallery, Hummingbird Conservatory for the Arts, and many more.

This one-time artistic experience is sponsored by the City of Glendale’s Arts and Culture Commission with funding from the Urban Art Program. The event is being coordinated by 11:11 A Creative Collective, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2009 to highlight the artists and creativity of San Fernando Valley communities. 11:11 A Creative Collective’s mission is to provide a collaborative and educational multidisciplinary environment for artists and the public.
