The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority began the 2016-2017 Winter Shelter Program on December 1st. The homeless shelter program provides homeless adults with overnight shelter, meals, showers, and case management services from December 1, 2016 until March 1, 2017. More than 1,400 beds will be available this season across the City and County of Los Angeles at the following locations:
East San Gabriel Valley
South Los Angeles
West Los Angeles
The above shelters not only will provide food, warmth, and comfort to homeless individuals but also access to support services and housing assistance. The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority coordinates the Winter Shelter Program in partnership with the California National Guard, the County of Los Angeles and the City of Los Angeles.
All Winter Shelter Programs will remain open until March 1, 2017. Winter shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis for single individuals. If you are a family in need of shelter, please visit the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority Families page for more info. Please call the shelter hotline 1(800) 548-6047 if you are in need of emergency shelter and for a list of pick-up points for free transportation to and from the shelters. Otherwise, please check LAHSA's Winter Shelter Program website often for updates regarding shelter details.
