Glendale Fire Department to Host Graduation and Promotion Ceremony

It’s an exciting week for the Glendale Fire Department as they celebrate the promotions of seven of their own and welcome a diverse group of 13 recruits into the fold.

 

Glendale Fire Department Pinning Ceremony:

 

Seven individuals will be honored tomorrow Thursday, December 15th with a badge pinning ceremony to mark their promotion to a new position and their dedication to the Glendale community. Bill Lynch will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Fire Chief, Brian Julian to the rank of Battalion Chief, Chris Malaspino to the rank of Fire Captain, Derek Tamburro to the rank of Fire Captain, Brendan Edwards to the rank of Fire Engineer, Sean Haug to the rank of Fire Engineer, and Lance Menier to the rank of Fire Engineer.

 

During the ceremony, the seven will return their current rank badges and be pinned with their new ranks. This will be followed by a dedication to the rigors of their new positions by taking the Public Service Oath. The ceremony is a time-honored tradition signifying the transition of department leaders to their new positions.

 

Members of the media are invited to attend at Glendale Fire Station 21 located at 421 Oak Street, Glendale, CA 91204.

 

Burbank and Glendale Host Class of 2016 Firefighter Recruit Academy Graduation:

 

The Burbank and Glendale Fire Departments will be hosting the Class of 2016 Firefighter Recruit academy graduation this Friday, December 16th at the Burbank Fire Department Training Center. The ceremony will honor the diverse group of 13 recruits who endured a physically demanding 15-week joint firefighter academy. Recruits will have their firefighter badges pinned and will administer the Public Service Oath during the ceremony.

The graduation ceremony is an important first-step which signifies the end of their first phase of training, the beginning of yearlong on-the-job training, and an opportunity to recognize their dedication and hard work. The 2016 graduation class represents Glendale and Burbank’s broad diversity, and of course, our community’s passion for public service.  

 

The ceremony will take place this Friday, December 16th at the Burbank Fire Department Training Center located at 1845 N. Ontario Street, Burbank, CA. Media Members are invited to attend. Photo and interview opportunities will be provided with Burbank and Glendale Fire Department personnel.
