Glendale Tech on Tap: The Growth of Ransomware and How to Protect Yourself

Glendale Tech on Tap is doing things a bit differently this time around with a unique morning event at the brand new Kiki and David Gindler Performing Arts Center at the Antaeus Theatre here in Glendale. Enjoy what’s on tap and meet Mr. Ara Aslanian, a Glendale-based entrepreneur, as he talks about “The Growth of Ransomware and What Businesses Can Do to Protect Themselves.” The event starts at 8:00 am with the 30 minute talk beginning at 8:15.

Ransomware has become one of the latest malware trends to hurt businesses and make headlines for the unique way it does its damage. Ransomware is computer malware that is installed on the victim’s computer and takes data hostage. The data is often valuable, and can only be returned to the victim if they pay a ransom to get it back. Failure to pay the ransom inevitably leads to deletion of the data, which can be impossible to get back. However, all is not lost if you are a business worried about this latest trend.

This special addition of Tech on Tap will introduce Mr. Ara Aslanian, Founding Partner and CEO of Inverselogic Inc. Founded in 1988 in Glendale, Inverselogic provides Technology Consulting, Infrastructure Design, Technical Support, Application Development, and Cyber Security services. Recently, Mr. Aslanian founded Reevert Storage LLC., a SaaS based startup focused on providing cloud based data backup, storage, and recovery solutions. Besides dealing with the day-to-day work of running two successful tech companies, Mr. Aslanian is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge and also serves on the Verdugo Workforce Development Board.

Coffee, rather than beer, will be on tap for this unique morning event, but the casual environment and good company will stay the same. In addition, attendees will be one of the first people in Glendale to experience the just finished Kiki and David Gindler Performing Arts Center. The Performing Arts Center will serve as the new home for the Antaeus Theatre Company, which is a cooperative theatre ensemble founded to empower the actor and bring classical theatre to Southern California. The City of Glendale is excited to be part of the opening week festivities celebrating the addition of the Kiki and David Gindler Performing Arts Center to Glendale’s vibrant downtown.

The event will be at the Kiki and David Gindler Performing Arts Center located at 110 E. Broadway Avenue, Glendale, CA. Event is free, but space is limited, so please RSVP by clicking here.
