The City of Glendale will be hosting two exciting events on one jam packed day for the entire family. Bring the kids to Glendale’s annual Spring Eggstravaganza and Earth Day Celebrations this Saturday, April 15th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Pacific Park. Start your morning off with fun activities like face painting, raffle prizes, an egg hunt and end with educational and recreational activities in celebration of Earth Day 2017. There will be plenty of things to do for people of all ages, so feel free to bring your entire family.
The day starts off with Spring Eggstravaganza from 10:00am – 12:00pm offering a fun morning of egg hunts, arts and crafts, and of course a special appearance by the Easter Bunny. Stay after Spring Eggstravaganza for Glendale’s annual Earth Day celebrations from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Attendees will learn about water conservation, zero waste best practices, solar energy innovations, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and other ways to reduce their environmental footprint. This year’s partners include Glendale Arts, Solar Schoolhouse, Athens Service, LA Conservation Corps, and Mattress Recycling Council.

Courtesy of LA Conservation Corps and the Mattress Recycling Council, e-waste and mattress recycling collection will be held on Kenilworth Avenue off of Riverdale Drive from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm. Celebrate Earth Day and dispose of your items in a socially and ecologically responsible way.
The e-waste and recycling collection will only accept the following items:

LCD monitors & TVs
MP3 players
GPS systems
Camcorders
Smartphones
PDAs & cell phones
CRT & monitors
Mattresses
Athens Service will also be providing compost giveaways on Kenilworth Avenue. So bring a bucket with you to pick up free compost material for your own home.
