As the City of Glendale’s Finance Department will tell you, budget season is in full swing. Each year, the City of Glendale invites the public to learn more about the budget process and what’s in store for the upcoming fiscal year (FY). The public is invited and encouraged to attend multiple meetings throughout May and June which will give community members a look at the proposed FY 2017/2018 budget. Each meeting will be held at Glendale City Hall in the Council Chambers located at 613 E. Broadway, Suite 220.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
3rd Quarter Update & Proposed FY 17-18 General Fund Budget
FY 17-18 Departmental Budget and Capital Improvement Projects
Fee Schedule & Updates from previous meetings
These meetings are subject to change or cancellation. Please check the agenda before arriving for the meeting. The agenda will be posted the Friday prior to the scheduled date of meeting.
These public meetings are just one way the City keeps the budget process transparent so that residents and the community stay informed. Budgetary data can also be found on the City of Glendale’s website for easy accessibility at all times. The budget’s transparency, financial integrity, and level of detail have netted it the Operating Budget Excellence Award from the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers for six years in a row.
