Glendale Hosts Fire Service Day 2017

May 3, 2017

Fire service is one of those things that you probably wouldn’t want to experience firsthand, especially when your property or your life is on the line. Well on Saturday, May 13th, you can see up close and personal how Glendale firefighters protect the life and property of our residents as part of the City of Glendale’s Fire Service Day. There will be something for the whole family, including a free pancake breakfast starting at 9 am. If you want to celebrate Fire Service Day with the City of Glendale and the Glendale Fire Department, come out on Saturday, May 13th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at Fire Station 21 located at 421 Oak Street, Glendale, CA 91204.

The entire day promises to be full of demonstrations and fun to show you just how important our firefighters are to the safety of our city. You can see a live vehicle extrication demonstration, hear from Glendale firefighters as you tour Fire Station 21, meet Sparky The Fire Dog, and much more.

The Glendale Fire Department prides itself on being a community first organization whose mission is to protect life and property through the highest level of service to the Glendale community. That is why once again the Insurance Services Office (ISO) has given the Glendale Fire Department a Class 1 ranking, the highest they offer, for Glendale’s exemplary fire services and protection. Part of this excellence is not only through the fire protection and life-saving service they provide, but through community outreach and a “Community First” mission. Events like Fire Service Day are just one of many ways the Glendale Fire Department embodies that motto.
