Recreational Marijuana: It's Here. Help Determine Its Place In Our Community

UPDATE: Marijuana discussion pulled from 7/25 meeting – pending further review.

Glendale, CA – The City Council meeting on July 25th will host a discussion on the future of marijuana in Glendale. The meeting comes on the heels of the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, and will take place at Glendale City Hall on July 25th 6:00p.m. Residents are also encouraged to take this short survey to express their views on marijuana control.

The Adult Use of Marijuana Act, also known as Proposition or “Prop” 64, was passed by Californian voters on November 9, 2016. The Act legalizes limited growth, possession, and use of recreational marijuana for those who are 21 or older, but left cities with certain regulatory powers. Discussions will revolve around these powers to help determine how the City should move forward.

The Council meeting will feature a presentation by City staff that outlines the law as it was passed in November, the anticipated role of the Federal Government, possible implementation scenarios by the State, and, of course, Glendale’s range of present options.

Time: 6:00p.m.

Date: July 25, 2017

Place: Glendale City Hall, 613 E. Broadway Street
