Central Park Design Community Meetings

On January 18th and 20th, all were invited to attend a community meeting at the Adult Recreation Center and Central Library to discuss and get involved in the design process of the Central Park Campus.

With over 250 attendees, both the Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon meetings were filled with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders ready to provide their input, share their experiences, and engage with the various workshops. With the opportunity to create a vibrant urban park, attendees participated in several interactive design activities, were able to ask questions and share concerns about the plan, and voiced their thoughts on what they want to see at Central Park. To lead into the interactive activities, landscape architecture firm SWA Group presented the proposed plan envisioning additional space for programming and expansion of usable square footage from the existing 76,675 square feet to 92,590. Potential programming in the upgraded space includes outdoor concerts and movies, festivals, a skating rink, and more!
