On Wednesday April 18, YWCA Glendale will hold its 21st Annual Legacy Luncheon at Vertigo! This fundraiser will support their domestic violence programs, including the Sunrise Village Emergency Shelter, case management services, counseling, legal advocacy, childcare, and more!
The YWCA Glendale has been helping survivors of domestic violence since 1979, serving well over 60,000 women and children through their emergency shelter and domestic violence service center. They are the only domestic violence agency in Glendale, and continue to serve over 2,000 men, women, and children annually. As part of their mission to serve, the YWCA provides crisis counseling, educational outreach, job, food, and legal assistance, and housing for women and children at their Sunrise Village Emergency Shelter.
The 2018 Legacy Luncheon Master of Ceremonies is Sundra Oakley, actress and passionate supporter of organizations that advocate for domestic violence survivors and their children. The Heart and Excellence Award Honorees are the Agape Circle of Western Diocese of the Armenian Church, Carol Ann Burton, Marilyn Kay Butler, and Sona A. Tatiyans. All of the honorees have dedicated their resources and knowledge to give back to the community.
