ABC 7 reporter Jovana Lara was “In the Neighborhood” last week when she took viewers back to the Glendale of her childhood.
Lara’s family emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba and settled in Glendale. In her recent “In the Neighborhood” segment, Lara highlights some of Glendale’s classic eateries like Porto’s Bakery. She reminisces of the days when the Jewel City’s main attraction was the Glendale Galleria. Today, the Galleria is a modern mall and the Americana at Brand enlivens the heart of Downtown Glendale.
Glendale Mayor Zareh Sinanyan told Lara, "The downtown is more of a downtown nowadays. You have these great restaurants and bars and the businesses are really flourishing."
Jovana Lara and her family know that home is where the family is, plus great Cuban food with a little Salsa dancing for dessert!
