Cerritos Elementary School Multi-Purpose Field Project


The City of Glendale Community Services & Parks Department has partnered with the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) to develop a multi-purpose field with sports field lighting on the Cerritos Elementary School campus. The proposed project would redevelop the existing grass field and paved play area with a joint use multi-purpose artificial turf field with soccer markings and surrounding rubberized surface jogging, perimeter security fence with privacy screening, seating, restroom and storage/maintenance building(s), walkways, landscaping, irrigation, re-grading of the existing paved play area, and sports field lighting. The proposed project would make use of the existing street and on-site parking. This proposed project will not impact the current parking availability.

The projects potential environmental effects are further described in the Environmental Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration.

The City will host a Project Information Meeting to receive comments on the Environmental Initial Study/ Mitigated Negative Declaration on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cerritos Elementary School.

After close of the public comment period, the City will finalize the Environmental Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and the City Council will consider adopting the Mitigated Negative Declaration and the proposed project at its regularly scheduled meeting on December 4, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Glendale City Hall, 613 E. Broadway.
