City Launches #OurGlendale Campaign & Offers Resources to Support Local Businesses

The City of Glendale continues to connect with the business community in an effort to understand and address needs as Public Health Orders and guidelines evolve during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several resources have been developed to provide marketing assistance to local small businesses and the launch of a new marketing campaign encourages consumers to support local small business in several ways.

“Our community must rally together to support local business now more than ever,” said Mayor Ara Najarian. Marketing efforts consist of several components:

#OURGLENDALE CAMPAIGN A social media campaign to support local small business features posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn featuring restaurants, grocery stores and other retailers that continue to provide services and special accommodations for vulnerable groups. Additionally, it offers consumers creative ways to support their favorite small businesses, including beauty service providers such as hair and nail salons.

MARKETING RESOURCES Emergency Marketing Resources are available online. Exempt businesses (ie. Restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores) can download signs to let the public know they are still open. “Curbside Pick Up” signs were also created and have been placed throughout the City. “Curbside Pick Up" signs can be picked up in the Police Department Lobby (131 N Isabel St, Glendale, CA 91206), or can be downloaded online.

RESTAURANTS DIRECTORY Restaurants that are still open for business can complete an online registration form to let us know about changes in hours, deliver & take out services, or specials. Restaurants are added to an online Restaurant Directory that is available to members of the public looking for take-out or delivery.

NEWSLETTER UPDATES Weekly email updates are going out to over 4,400 subscribers detailing updates in mandates from local authorities, plus any new resources as they are developed and become available.

Businesses are encouraged to contact the City of Glendale’s Economic Development team directly to discuss challenges, concerns, or recommendations on how the City can help.
