Glendale City Council approved the consent calendar.
Council approved a resolution adopting plans and specifications for the Fuel Management Key Card Reader Kiosk Project and directed the City Clerk to advertise for bids. The City of Glendale currently owns 16 fuel islands at various facilities throughout the City including the Corporation Yard, GWP Yard, Civic Center, Police Building, fire stations and parks. The fuel islands dispense diesel and regular unleaded gasoline. Key card reader kiosks are used to control the dispensing of fuel at these locations. The kiosks make sure the user is authorized to pump fuel and accounts for all fuel received and dispensed. The existing key card reader kiosk system is outdated, no longer reliable and in need of replacement. The full staff report can be found here.
Adoption of Ordinances
City Council adopted the ordinance amending sections 9.30.020; and 9.30.050 of title 9 of the Glendale Municipal Code, 1995, Relating to Just Cause and Retaliatory evictions. The full report can be found here.
Action Items
City Council Introduced the Ordinance, approving the Lease Agreement between the City and the Verdugo Woodlands Dads’ Club, Inc., and authorized the City Manager to sign the Lease. The City of Glendale owns the community building and property located at 1728 Canada Blvd. The City leases this property to the Verdugo Woodlands Dads’ Club, Inc. for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a recreational and cultural center for the Club’s activities and programs for organized youth groups. The City has determined that the Club’s use of the building for the Club’s purposes is in the public interest and fulfills one of the intended purposes of municipal government. City Council approved a motion providing staff direction to proceed with renaming Maryland Avenue between Wilson Street and Harvard Street to Artsakh. The full staff report can be found here.
Glendale City Council approved a motion to initiate the process of amending the Downtown Specific Plan with respect to development standards, height and FAR incentives, as well as other miscellaneous amendments to update the DSP as described in the staff report and Council direction.
