Glendale City Council approved the consent calendar.
City Council approved a motion authorizing the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with TRC Solutions, Inc. for the provision of designated underground storage tank operator services to support the City’s underground storage tank compliance for two years with an optional one-year extension. The City of Glendale currently possesses an inventory of aboveground and underground storage tanks at 17 facilities throughout Glendale. These tanks store unleaded and diesel fuel that feeds into emergency generators and fueling dispenser systems for the City’s fleet. The full report can be found here.
City Council approved Resolutions approving the Final Map of Tract No. 74962 for a 50-unit condominium subdivision and No. 73764 for a 5-unit condominium subdivision. The reports can be found here and here.
City Council adopted Specification No. 3669 for the Grayson Power Plant (GPP) Unit No. 9 Chiller Motor Replacement, and directed the City Clerk to advertise for bids. Unit No. 9 at GPP is an LM 6000 Combustion Turbine Generator (CTG) and it is rated to provide 49.5MW of generation capacity. The full report can be found here.
City Council adopted a resolution approving a Request for Proposal (RFP) for plan check and inspection services, and authorized the Community Development Director to obtain Proposals. The Building and Safety Division routinely contracts for professional services with firms that offer specialized expertise or provide supplemental services in areas such as inspection and plan check. In order to maintain current service levels, based upon current trends, this Division budgets approximately $300,000 per year for plan check and inspection services. Adoption of ordinances
Glendale City Council adopted an urgency interim ordinance which will temporarily prohibit the issuance of entitlements and/or permits for residential development projects (including residential mixed use projects) in the downtown specific plan area for 45 days. Ten days prior to the conclusion of the 45-day period, Community Development staff will present the Council with a plan and options to discuss the continuance of the moratorium. City Council also adopted an ordinance approving and authorizing the lease of real property located at 1728 Canada Boulevard to the Verdugo Woodlands Dad’s Club. The full report can be found here.
Action Items.
City Council adopted a motion to note and file the legislative update and to approve the legislative platform recommended by the Commission on the Status of Women. Furthermore, Council approved resolutions of support for Proposition 68, Proposition 69, and the Reducing Crime and Keeping California Safe Act of 2018. The full report can be found here.
City Council authorized the City Manager to use the “Engineer, Procure, Construct” (EPC) alternative project delivery method for the Utility Fiber Optic Business Plan’s proposed fiber network design, Engineer, and Build Project.
