Earth Day 2020!

April 22, 2020

Today, April 22, 2020, is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.  In 1970, millions of Americans, including students from thousands of colleges and universities, participated in rallies, marches and educational programs across the country. To honor this historical day, here are some environmental actions we can do to celebrate the day:

  • Be sure to recycle at home and work.

  • Plant a tree or plant to reduce carbon emissions.

  • Learn how to compost (Public Works offers free composting workshops).

  • Learn where to recycle your electronic waste and hazardous waste at home by visiting www.earth911.com.

  • Research how to make your home more energy and water efficient.

  • Learn how to ride mass transit in the future.

  • Raise awareness about the environment.

  • Today is a great day to share your own environmental message on social media.
