On May 10 and 11, 2018, representatives of the Glendale Police Department SWAT team competed at the 2018 Best in the West SWAT competition hosted by the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department. Twenty-seven teams representing agencies from across California competed in the two day event. The competition consisted of six events that tested each team’s physical fitness, marksmanship, tactics, and teamwork.
Our team performed at or near the top in every category and for the second consecutive year, the Glendale Police Department earned 1st Place Overall Team making Glendale the BEST IN THE WEST! The team also received the following awards:
Vehicle Assault – 1st Place Top Gun – 1st Place Two-Man Combat – 2nd Pace Overall – 1st Place
