GWP Joins Veloz, EV Ride & Drive Event

Glendale Water & Power (GWP) has joined Veloz, a distinguished group of sustainability leaders who are committed to the rapid expansion of California's electric vehicle (EV) market and its charging network, the promotion of energy security, and air quality and public health improvement. GWP is committed to advancing the electrification of the transportation sector in the Glendale Community. This is a key component of GWP’s mission to provide the highest level of environmental stewardship possible for the City of Glendale, the region, the state, and beyond.

“Utilities are vital to the successful deployment of a comprehensive charging network to support projected EV growth. GWP is eager to collaborate with Veloz on a shared vision that enables utilities to provide new programs and cleaner transportation options for customers,” said Steve Zurn, General Manager of GWP. Veloz builds on the success of the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative, a public-private partnership founded in 2010 to convene, collaborate, and communicate on emerging electric car market trends, address challenges, and enable strong market growth. GWP joins the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, Pacific Gas & Electric, and Southern California Edison among other California utility companies who are members of Veloz.

As part of GWP’s goal to promote EV adoption, we are hosting another EV Ride and Drive event to provide customers with a hassle free experience test driving the latest EVs on the market. Join GWP and Burbank Water & Power on January 12th, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Downtown Burbank Metrolink Station Parking Lot, 5 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA 91502. Sign-up to test drive a variety of different vehicles and learn about EVs. Registration is required and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests interested in viewing vehicles and exhibits do not need to register.
