Glendale CDBG funds help build new ADA Ramp at YWCA Glendale Center

YWCA Glendale will be joined by officials from the City of Glendale for a ribbon cutting event celebrating the completion of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ramp. The event is open to all community members and will take place on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 10 a.m. on the front steps of the YWCA Glendale center on 735 E. Lexington Drive in Glendale, CA.

Funded generously in large part by the City of Glendale’s Community Development Block Grant, the newly installed ADA ramp improves accessibility for disabled persons, the elderly and parents with children in strollers.

The project widely serves the community, as YWCA Glendale’s Lexington Drive building is a vibrant community hub which houses the YWCA Glendale Service Center for families in need, Pacific Clinics Head Start pre-school program, Armenian General Benevolent Union’s GenNext teen program and many other local groups seeking community space.

YWCA Glendale offers special thanks to the City of Glendale’s Community Development Block Grant Advisory Board and Community Services & Parks Department.

Learn more about all the programs funded by City of Glendale’s Community Development Block Grant by reading the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Annual Action Plan for Community Development, Housing, and Homeless Program on the City's website.

The ribbon cutting event is open to everyone. RSVP not required but appreciated. Contact Maria at (818) 242-4155 x217 or mariaverduzco@glendaleywca.org. More information about the YWCA can be found at glendaleywca.org.
