Glendale High School Hires New Varsity Head Football Coach
Former NFL and USC Football Player Cary Grant Harris
Glendale High School has hired Cary Grant Harris to be their new varsity head football coach. Harris was a three-year starting cornerback for USC between 2006 and 2008 under Coach Pete Carroll. He was a two-time All-Pac-10 honorable mention player in 2007 and 2008 and was considered a top cornerback for the 2009 NFL Draft.
After graduating from USC with a B.S in Health in 2009, Harris was drafted in the sixth round (183rd overall) to the Buffalo Bills. Throughout his NFL career, Harris also served on the practice squads for the Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Bengals, and New York Giants.
In addition to his playing career, Harris worked as a coaching intern for the Oakland Raiders and, most recently, an Assistant Football Coach for Moorpark
College. Harris also founded the NFL San Fernando Valley Flag Football program, which is part of NFL PLAY 60. The league provides co-ed flag football opportunities for youth ages 5-17.
