Glendale Rated One of Safest American Cities to Live In


The City of Glendale was recently named one of the safest American cities to live in by Niche.com as part of its 2017 Safest Cities to Live In list. Of the top 25 safest cities in America, Glendale ranked 12th for its low violent crimes and property crimes rate.

Compared to the national annual total of 453 violent crimes per 100,000 people, Glendale experienced 95 violent crimes per 100,000. As for property crimes, the data show that Glendale experienced more than 1,000 less property crimes than the national annual total of 2,869 property crimes per 100,000 people.

“This great achievement is a prime example of what can happen when Glendale works together,” said Glendale Mayor Vartan Gharpetian. “With the strong support of our community, and the leadership shown by Police Chief Castro and this City Council, Glendale will continue to be a safe place to live, work and enjoy life. We will never stop striving for excellence.”
