Traveling between North Hollywood and Pasadena can be daunting with LA traffic. Luckily Metro is working to improve bus services to make your commute as pain free as possible!
Metro plans to connect communities from North Hollywood to Pasadena with a new high-quality, reliable Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service. The BRT will link key activity centers and improve access to jobs, entertainment, and the regional transit system.
“The North Hollywood to Pasadena corridor, which includes my city of Glendale, is the most heavily traveled corridor that does not yet have a premium bus service,” said Ara Najarian, Glendale City Councilmember and Metro Board Member. “We’re going to fix that with this project that will connect rail from the red line No. Hollywood to the gold line Pasadena. It will bring the benefits of fast, frequent Bus Rapid Transit service to our two great Valleys for the first time and also open up public transit to downtown Los Angeles. Funded with federal, local and state tax funds, we plan to deliver this project by 2024, well in advance of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympics Games in Los Angeles.”
The North Hollywood to Pasadena BRT Project extends approximately 16 miles and will provide a connection between the Metro Red, Orange and Gold Lines. The areas that will be served by the proposed project include the Cities of Los Angeles (North Hollywood and Eagle Rock communities), Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena. In planning for this project, Metro will complete an Alternatives Analysis and Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that will consider various routes.
