The City of Glendale has scheduled three public meetings to receive community input about modernizing refuse, recycling and yard trimming collection services. The modernization of these collection services will help the City comply with new statewide mandates and regulations.
The community meetings are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
Wednesday, August 23 at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Services Building Planning Room, 633 E. Broadway, Room 105 in Glendale
Thursday, August 24 at 10 a.m. in the Glendale Police Department Community Room at 131 N. Isabel St. in Glendale
Tuesday, September 26 at 3 p.m. in City Hall Council Chambers on the second floor of 613 E. Broadway in Glendale
Those wanting to comment, but who are unable to attend one of these three meetings can provide their input by sending comments and questions to recycle@glendaleca.gov or via a 10-question online survey found at www.glendaleca.gov/franchise.
In addition to the online survey, the link provides a wealth of information about refuse, recycling and yard trimming collection services in Glendale.
According to glendaleca.gov/franchise, the City will undertake an analysis of current services and the collection system in order to ensure that services are provided efficiently and that new regulations are met. With the help of a consultant, the City is determining the best commercial and multi-family service.
Several informative facts are also published, including that the City of Glendale currently has 37 permitted haulers; single-family residences and properties with two to four units are exclusively serviced by the City; and that all permitted haulers, including the City, compete for all other accounts.
