Senator Portantino Names Yasmin Beers 2018 Woman of the Year

Each year, members of the State Legislature recognize exceptional women in their district with the honor of Woman of the Year. Senator Anthony J. Portantino, who represents California’s 25th State Senate District, has selected Yasmin Beers as the 2018 Woman of the Year.

Senator Portantino stated, “It is such an honor to be able to recognize Yasmin as Women of the Year from Senate District 25. She is an outstanding administrator who engages in numerous acts of civic responsibilities, volunteerism, and community services. Her advocacy and dedication to Glendale serves as a sterling example for all of us to follow. Yasmin is just a great person serving an equally great community.”

Yasmin has served the City of Glendale since 1987, holding various progressively responsible positions. In February 2018, Yasmin was appointed Glendale City Manager, making her the first woman in Glendale’s history to hold the position. Read more about Yasmin’s background here.
