Sex Offender Arrested for Attempt Burglary - Charges Filed


Glendale, CA - On May 21, 2018 at 12:20 p.m., Glendale officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 700 block of Avonglen Terrace in the City of Glendale. A 71 year old female was home alone and heard noises at her rear sliding glass door. At first, she ignored the noises and then learned a male was attempting to forcefully open her locked sliding glass door. The victim called 911 and the male continued to pull on the slider, but was unable to gain entry and left the area.

The victim remained on the phone with the police communications officer and provided a detailed description of the male suspect and his direction of travel. Officers searching the area detained a male matching the description. The victim positively identified the male as being involved in the attempt burglary and he was taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as 57 year old William Pfistner, a homeless male. Pfistner is a registered sex offender with a prison prior for rape of a child under the age of 16. Further investigation revealed Pfistner had a probation violation warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.

On May 23, 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 1 felony count of attempt Burglary (664/459 P.C.) and 1 felony count of failing to register as a sex offender (290(b)P.C.).
