TechX

Do you spend hours watching and learning from TEDx talks online? Are you the type of person who’s always looking to the future of technology and how that can help shape our future? Then look no further, because TechX is the event for you!

Join the Valley Economic Alliance for TechX, a series of TEDx style presentations and demonstrations focused on the latest and most innovative technology products, solutions and current technology industry practices. This event will be held on June 7th at Pierce College in the Grand Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

TechX starts at 8:00 a.m. with registration, networking, exhibit tables and breakfast! The presentations and demonstrations begin at 9:00 a.m., after you’ve had the chance to mingle and eat a delicious breakfast.

The three speakers for TechX come from various corners of the innovative technology field.

Peter Said, CEO and Founder of Tryden Energy: Solving America’s Greatest Challenges

Mr. Said will explain the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), discuss some of the implications of a combined power generation and hot water system, and envision some of the future implications.

Scott Prewitt, Student from Pierce College’s Geographic Information Systems Program: How Demography and Cartography Can Reshape Democracy

Mr. Pruitt will demonstrate how the growling field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can take some of the guesswork out of the legislative process and help inform smarter decision-making in government, such as with the crisis of homelessness in Los Angeles.

Ken Chawkins, Business and Policy Manager, Southern California Gas Company: A Different Way of Looking at Energy Options

Mr. Chawkins will challenge your way of thinking when it comes to renewable energy and energy storage by encouraging you to consider “widening the lens” on how to make California the cleanest state in the nation.
