The sale will take place at Brand Library & Art Center in the Recital Hall, 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale, CA 91201. Admission is free and complimentary parking is available in Brand Park adjacent to the library. This is a great opportunity to purchase some wonderful and very affordable treasures from the Brand Library, and all sale proceeds will be used to support our music, dance and art offerings throughout the year.

Special Event | The Theremin: A Hands On Hands Off Interactive Music Experience Saturday | October 6, 2018 | 2:00 PM Contact: Blair Free Ed Sussman will discuss and perform on the Theremin. This is the first electronic instrument, developed in the 1920s, and is played without being touched. Ed will also discuss it's inventor, Leon Theremin, and his other inventions including motion detection alarms and spying devices. Theremin's unique untouchable instrument lead to the new electronic music technologies used today. The instrument has been used in popular classical, jazz, pop and rock classics. Ed will perform and also encourage the audience to participate and explore the magic of making music with the wave of their hands.

Members of Brand Associates and their guests are invited to a reading of the Tony Award-winning play “Art.” Glendale’s own Antaeus Theatre Company members, directed by Gigi Bermingham, will present this engrossing play which explores how an almost totally white painting disrupts the longstanding relationship of three friends when it raises questions of aesthetics, class and interpersonal history that cannot be ignored.
