On Wednesday, April 24, the City of Glendale will host its annual Armenian Genocide Commemorative event at the Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd., at 7 p.m. The Commemoration honors the lives of 1.5 million men, women, and children who suffered and perished 104 years ago and serves as a reminder to young people of all ethnic backgrounds that such atrocities can be prevented if we work together to understand cultural differences and find acceptance. The event features special remarks by Amb. Armen Baibourtian, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles, and performances by local dance and music groups. Free tickets are available at alextheatre.org. For more information, call (818) 548-4844.
