Glendale Beautiful invites you to see the historic Casa Adobe de San Rafael on December 10 surrounded in candlelight for the Fiesta de Las Luminarias.
Throughout the year, volunteer members of Glendale Beautiful, a local non-profit dedicated to keeping our city beautiful and preserving our early California history, host an open house at the historic Casa Abode de San Rafael from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the 1st Sunday of each month. Information describing the Casa in Armenian, English, and Spanish is available, and docents can answer questions and share other historical background during the open house.
The historic casa was built for Tomas and Maria Sanchez from adobe bricks made on site. The home was completed in 1871 and is furnished in late 19th-century style. Casa Adobe is California Landmark #235, and is Glendale Register of Historic Resources #3. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 per person to help Glendale Beautiful care for the Casa.
