On August 4, 2020, the world watched in shock as Lebanon experienced a massive explosion that devastated the City of Beirut.
With approximately 180 lives lost, 6000+ wounded, and tens of thousands homeless, Beirut is in need of assistance.
The City of Glendale is a diverse community with many residents and business owners who trace their roots back to Lebanon and Beirut. Some of Glendale’s favorite local restaurants and cuisine are also inspired by upbringings in Beirut.
As stated by the Mayor and Councilmembers, the City of Glendale stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon by adorning City Hall in the colors of the Lebanese flag through August 25th. Below is also a list of organizations working to provide support for the victims of the explosion.*
