GYA to Offer Employment Opportunities for Students with Disabilities

The Glendale Youth Alliance (GYA) is excited to announce that we have once again received funding to operate the Summer Training and Employment Program for Students (STEPS) with disabilities! We are now accepting applications for summer 2019.

Youth will receive work readiness training and 200 hours of paid work experience at a work site based on their skills, aptitudes and interests during the summer months.

Youth eligibility is determined by the following:

  • Must be between the ages of 16-21

  • Must have a disability and be able to work independently in mainstream employment

  • Must have right to work documents

  • If under 18, must be able to obtain a work permit from school

Most jobs are in the cities of Glendale and Burbank and surrounding areas; therefore, youth must have transportation to work. Applications are available at the GYA office, located at 1255 S. Central Avenue, Glendale, CA 91204. For more information, call (818) 937-8073.
