We all want what’s best for our children, and we know that getting a well-rounded education is the key to success. Many see college as the best path forward, but saving for school can be hard. Thankfully, the Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) is partnering with the Glendale Educational Foundation (GEF) to help low income students start their savings.
The ScholarShare 529 Pilot Program begins this year and will support 75 students at Roosevelt Middle School and 25 students from Cerritos Elementary School.
As part of the pilot program, GEF will provide the first deposit of $100 for 100 GUSD students who register and qualify for a ScholarShare 529 account. GUSD and GEF hope to find success in their efforts and expand the program to include more students in the future!
Sending your children to college will be easier if you start saving early. Click here to find out if you qualify for this pilot program.
